Mechanical Clock Repairs, Melksham, Wiltshire

COVID 19
Latest Developments: May 2021

Though the COVID19 "road-map" is progressing well and infection rates remain low, I am keen to avoid any unnecessary risk to customers and staff and so will continue to avoid any routine site/home visits until after the proposed lifting of restrictions on 21st June 2021.

The lockdown period has been busy here with some very involved projects (more "reconstructions" than "repairs") which have taken a good deal of time. I will be using the remainder of May/June to clear any remaining "lockdown work".

New Customers: please seek service elsewhere if you are unable to wait until June to have your clocks assessed.

Existing Customers: I will make arrangements (COVID-safe) with individuals regarding the return of pre-arranged work to site and the fulfilment of existing commitments.

Please take care and stay safe: normal service will be restored once all restrictions have been lifted in England.

This disease is not to be under-estimated.

Best wishes,

Julian

West Wiltshire Clocks is a small business based in Melksham, Wiltshire, specialising in the repair of mechanical clocks:

·        Overhaul and repair using traditional materials and methods
·        Collection, delivery and setting–to-work of clocks from/to/at the customer's own home or premises
·        Work warrantied
·        Advice on care and maintenance

My name is Julian Parr and am the resident horologist. After a long term interest in clocks I decided to turn a hobby into a vocation - augmenting a lifetime's reading and knowledge with training from some of the leading names in British horology. These skills are now put to use ensuring that clocks are sympathetically restored and continue to provide years of faithful service.
I have completed two years, full-time study to gain the West Dean College Diploma in Clock Conservation and Restoration.
In a world where traditional clock repairers are becoming increasingly difficult to find - work continues in this corner of West Wiltshire to maintain our time-keeping heritage.
